Alumnae Speaker Series - Eleanor Vendrell - Wednesday 21st May 2025, 7.00-9.00pm

A lifelong reader of books that make you laugh and sob, she enjoys nothing more than earnest discussions about the importance of joyful fiction and books that include kissing.
A spark for creative writing was ignited during her English Literature A Levels classes and Eleanor has continued writing for pleasure ever since. 2025 marks the launch of her debut novel, 'The Great Orchid Heist'. The book is now available as an ebook and in paperback from 13th March.
As part of our 'Alumnae Speaker Series', Eleanor will be joining us on Wednesday 21st May 2025 to talk about her creative journey. The evening will begin at 7.00pm and there will be an opportunity to buy a copy of Eleanor’s book.

Whizz will lead a guided walk around her family’s picturesque 500 acre farm, nestled in the Barton Hills. She will share insights into the daily operations of a busy working farm, the topography of the land, and the different crops grown, most notably rapeseed. The farm has been in Whizz’s family since 1982, and in 2012, she launched Mrs Middleton’s Oils, an award-winning offshoot of the business.
The morning will conclude with tea, coffee, and biscuits, followed by a short presentation from Whizz on Mrs Middleton’s Oils.
There is no charge to join the event but there will be a collection on the day for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, in recognition of the life-saving support they provided on the farm a few years ago.
